Conclusion

I have e-mailed my panel members the links to my websites. I am really hoping for a response. But other than that I am just trying to get my materials together. Now remember my project is about making a support group that helps people deal with abuse physically or emotionally. As the days have passed I have been debating on where and how I am going to start with this support group? I came to the conclusion that I would like to start of by having a support group that is only girls. The reason for this is that I feel as if it might be a bit easier for girls to talk within a group rather than guys. I am not saying it is only going to be a containing girls it will slowly but effectively transition to boys and girls. I was thinking that maybe I should start at the younger school levels like middle school. They seem to be a bit more open about things and seem to be more effected by this problem.

  1. Your project seems similar to Elzabeth's. So I have the same question. Have you decided how the support group will be structured? How would the support group be lead? Think about small details.

  2. Michelle I think what you are doing is so great. Being a victim of abuse I know I would have loved to have a group of girls I could have spoken to. I think you should do what probably many of us are thinking of doing. Advertise your group on popular sites, for example, Facebook. Make a page just for information and having a staring point to bring in those in need. Then when they speak to you, you can direct them to the actual group. Are you going to have meetings? A place? Time? Kind of like the AA groups. Think about starting your own blogging community. A group on blogger or somewhere for those potential members can go to seek help.

I wish you the best of luck on this!
